Here I am sculpting the rough of Bills Dog. I just have to clean him up. position him and set up the shots. Then where off !
How did you get into stop motion animation? Did you go to school for this?
I went to University of Oregon for fine art. I took a class in animation from Ken O’Connell. I was late registering and I begged to be let in. He eventually conceded. From there I fell in love with animation and eventually gave a shot at stop motion. At that point stop motion was it. I think the draw to it was that I was always better and quicker at sculpting and fabricating then i was at drawing…. After working for Vinton, Henson, mtv, and independently - I eventually found myself back in NY and now I’m here working for Bill!
